This adolescent bear got a bit nervous when a larger male came on the scene leaving his grazing spot quickly and the pausing among the lupins on the edge of the meadow to watch the scene before moving off. While these brown bears are in much closer proximity to each other compared to grizzlies in the lower 48 because of the plentiful food supplies, they are tenser and more alert to the point of beating a retreat when a more dominant males moves into the area.
