Danger Point
I had dropped my friend off at French Glen so she could take a rest from the dust and gravel roads and I continued on to see If I could find any of the South Steens wild horses to photograph. I didn't see any on the side of the lower south foothills, and followed my instinct when I took one bumpy, deeply rutted dirt road upwards. Driving slowing I arrived at the top and was surprised beyond belief as I got out of the car and scanned the panoramic scene. There were multiple bands of wild horses (about 60), five pronghorn antelope. It was almost too much to take in. As I looked towards my left at a distance near the ridge, I saw movement - not from horses but a coyote. And as I looked I saw a second one. This is an image from two exposures that show the two coyotes. One has spotted me and the other is looking towards a foal that is at some distance from its mother.
Upon seeing me, they started running off towards the northeast. A stallion then spotted them and gave chase. Later I saw yet a third coyote in the same general initial area that had been left behind.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
