Description
Multnomah Falls, painterly
I used to live in NE Portland years ago, and returned to live in Oregon nearly 16 years ago now, but rarely visited this place because it is a hot spot for tourists. Finally one morning I got there early enough where it wasn't too bad. The trail was closed due to hazards, and you can still see a bit of snow of the rocks behind the upper part of the waterfall. It is the tallest waterfall in Oregon at a combination of 542 feet (upper falls) and 69 feet (lower falls), and the Benson Bridge was built in 1914. Benson later donated the land that included this and Wahkeena Falls to Portland. This image has a slight painterly finish to it.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
