Description
Release of a Young Skunk
Someone was stealing my sister's ducks' eggs. The culprit, a young skunk, was caught and briefly placed behind bars. Then it was released to a new location. Moving the skunk was not without its dangers. A large piece of cardboard served as a shield for the pungent odor that was released while a cover was placed over the cage during the move. Here the little skunk cautiously wanders out to freedom. Note its long claws, great for burrowing. The skunk has poor eyesight and can only see about 10 feet, and it can spray its odor about the same distance.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
