Description
The Ups and Downs of Being a Mountain Goat, No. 3
Hanging out with the goats on the Hidden Lake Trail was one of the most precious experiences of my Glacier National Park trip. There were two young goats, or kids who clambered over rocks, fed, and stayed within the vicinity of its mother. There was a old goat, whose fur was matted, and looked less steady on its feet, but whose face and expression were full of character and wisdom.
This was the first goat we encountered had a huge tracking device, and we all felt badly as it did not look very comfortable for her. She grazed, then looked as if she were going to head straight down the mountain, then changed her mind and started heading back up the path, where she soon met up with the other goats coming from the opposite direction. There were about six hikers, at this point, who spent between a half hour to an hour with this goat, before she (I believe) finally started heading up the path in front of us, and there was just a sense of wonder and companionship in having that shared experience.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
