Description
Tunnel View of Yosemite During Spring
This is Yosemite Valley as seen from Tunnel View on a beautiful, clear, Spring Day. In 1864, President Lincoln and Congress granted the ceding of the land of Yosemite Valley and the Mariposa land to California, creating a state park and setting a precedent for preservation of our lands, the first national park of Yellowstone and our National Park System. Yosemite Valley is seven square miles, but the whole park encompasses 1,168.681 sq miles. Many roads are impassable until Spring melts. The natural beauty of Yosemite has been an attraction for tourism since the late 1800s. It was designated a World Heritage site in 1984.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
