Description
Two Palomino Stallions
The first stallion is the father of Pallaton and Traveler and was from the band I had encountered on multiple occasions. The second Palomino (nicknamed by someone the "Fancy" Palomino) was from the second band of horses at the waterhole - a large band with about 3 duns, 1 grullo, 1 bay, two other palominos and one foal. This morning there was also a lot of cows all about, so it was quite a tense and busy scene. The one herd was at the west side of the pond and moved off first, while the original band was at the south side of the waterhole.
After the one band moved off, the Fancy Palomino suddenly came running back through the cows towards the original band as if to say "I will go where I like." Pallaton, the 2014 colt and his father, the Palomino Stallion galloped towwards him, but interestingly enough, it was Pallaton who took the lead. They first sniffed each other and then Pallaton kicked at the stallion. They postured about a bit, then the Fancy Palomino moved off again. The original Palomino remained very alert for the next hour or so.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
