Description
A Peaceful July 4 at Waldo Lake
Waldo lake is Oregon's 2nd largest natural non-alkali lake, second only to Crater Lake and also the 2nd deepest. It is so pure that on a clear calm day, one can see depths of up to 120 feet. The purier is due to there b eing no permanent inlet to carry nutrients into the lake for plant growth. The lake used to be stocked with trout, but the practice was stopped to preserve water clarity. Its beauty and peace was a welcome alternative to spending a noisy July 4th in Eugene, despite the numerous mosquitoes, and I even took a refreshing and cold swim.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
