Description
A Swan's Reverie
Distinguished from other swans by their black beak, the Trumpet swans are arguably the heaviest birds in North America. Some cite the Condor, and this is due to variable weights of the bird. This particular swan was seen at Cattleman's Bridge Site, an area adjacent to Oxbow Bend, very beautiful. I couldn't partake of the full beauty of the site as I was only able to walk partway in due to the road closure and heavy snow through which I kept sinking.
I loved the water dripping from the swan's beak and treated this shot artistically with multiple layers and textures (including a free one from InsightDesigns UK).

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
I currently reside in Oregon, an environment rich in nature's graces. I have lived in California and New York, too, and everywhere there is a world of beauty around us, if we care to take the time and look for it.
