Aspens Along the Road to Maroon Bells, No. 2
The second morning I visited Maroon Bells for the sunrise, but returning along the road, I stopped to get a series of shots of aspen trees that had started to turn color. I love the contrast of the white bark with the Autumn foliage and am fascinated that trees in a colony originate from one seedling that is rhizomatic and turns into a root system that can be thousands of years old. Individual trees live up to 150 years old, but the underlying root system keeps producing new trees

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life.
