Description
Balletic Shenanigans, No. 5
The fifth of 16 in a series of this pair of Mustangs from the South Steens Herd cavorting and playing in front of a waterhole. I watched these two horses playing for about twenty minutes. They appeared to be part of a bachelor band. While I've seen many bachelors play fighting, these really enjoyed cavorting, chasing, nibbling on each other, and play fighting. There was an artistry and grace to their movements that did remind me of a choreographed ballet. There was a third horse (not the one here in the background) that seemed at times to either want to join in or try to get his bandmates to take it down a notch, but these two seemed mostly in a world of their own. More from this duo in my Wild Horses Gallery.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
