Big Nutria

This large rodent, a nutria or coypu, was seen at Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge. It wasn't until I reviewed it on my computer screen I was able to determine it wasn't a beaver as its tail was round, hairy versus flat. The size of one did look like a beaver. Another indication is that a nutria's body will be more visible when swimming, while usually mainly just the beaver's head shows.
