Fall at Clear Lake, No. 2
I got myself out to Clear Lake and the trail on the day before rain was forecast to see the fall color in its prime. It turned out to be a beautiful Autumn Day, perfect for walking. The water in Clear Lake is from runoff from Mt Washington and filters for an incredible 2o years through underwater caverns and lava rock before reaching the lake. It is the headwaters for McKenzie River, whose pure water provides drinking water for Eugene, Oregon.
