Description
Fawn on the McKenzie, No. 4
The doe and I believe its mother had visited this spot before, and once with a two year old buck. My neighbor had told me there was a fawn in the area, just coming out of its spots and I had a glimpse a few days prior to this, but this time I got to watch it for almost an hour. What a treat! The deer around here are not tame at all and alert to any noise, even a twig snapping, which is why the first time I saw it, it was only a glimpse. I was at quite a distance, over 100 yards at least, and so it surprised me that it head my foot encounter a twig, but its defense mechanisms will hopefully serve this one well in the future.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
