Description
Each Spring the robins abound. The males pick fights with their reflections in the windows; the females build their nests and hover around their young. This Spring, the female robin was particularly attentive. Each morning, she squawked as my dog and I went past. I didn't think she had had her young, and then one day I noticed that she had, and indeed the nest was quite crowded. There were four robins here, one can barely be made out, but all squished in on one side of the nest, I guess leaving a space for momma, although she usually perched on a branch nearby. A couple of days after this photograph was taken, they flew out, not to return. The momma robin stayed that evening tweeting to her young who were flying helter-skelter all over the yard, a bit shaky in their flying methods, but the next morning, she too was gone.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
I currently reside in Oregon, an environment rich in nature's graces. I have lived in California and New York, too, and everywhere there is a world of beauty around us, if we care to take the time and look for it.
