General Grant Sequoia
Prior to 1931, because of its base, General Grant was thought to be the largest tree in the world. However, after precise measurements were taken, it was found that General Sherman was larger. This is by volue, not height or width. GG is 267.4 feet tall and the volumen is 46,608 cu ft. (Sherman 52,508) Age estimate is about 1650 years.
