General Sherman Sequoia
This is the world's largest single stem tree by volume on earth. It's a little confusing as it's not the tallest or widest. The Giant Sequoias only grown at certain elevations. Their seeds can stay green and last up to 20 years. They need heat, often fire, to disperse their seeds. the Giant Sequoias are among the oldest living things on earth, with the oldest being about 3500 years old. The General Sherman is estimated to be between 2300-2700 years old.
