Go Your Own Way
Three mustangs from the South Steens Wild Horse Herd on one of the ranges on Steens Mountain in Oregon. The light horse is a stallion, the sorrel, a mare, and I'm not sure about the black horse. On a range like this, two or more bands are often seen in close quarters. In Spring, the interactions can be more intense. As long as a stallion doesn't get too close to another stallion's mare, all is usually fine, although they always seem alert. The stallion was more focused on me as seen in Territorial, as I was the strange element in the mix!
