Greater Kudu Cows and Calves at Mahango Game Reserve


At the upper northeastern part of Namibia is the Caprivi Strip, and part of this is the Mahango Game Reserve as you pass into Botswana. We didn't have as much time here as I hoped, although it is a small park. As it was the end of the dry season and there has been a drought, there were probably fewer animals than normal, but we did see Greater Kudu, Common Eland, the Lechwe Antelope, specific to this region (not close), and a a couple of elephants and hippos (at a distance), and quite a few birds. I would have liked to linger longer, but time did not allow as we had to be at a meeting spot by mid afternoon in Botswana and the border crossing ahead of us.
