Grinnell Glacier - Expiration Date 2030
Grinell Glacier lies on the flank of Mount Gould. Before 1929, Grinnell Glacier used to encompass Salamander Glacier. Now Salamander rests alone on a shelf about Grinnell. In 1850, at the end of small Ice Age, Grinnell was estimated to measure about 710 acres. Between 1966 and 2003, it lost 40% of its acreage and in 2005, it was listed as 152 acres. Photographs from the 1930s onward show the decline (https://www.e-education.psu.edu/earth103/node/767). If carbon dioxide levels increase at worse case scenarios, all the glaciers in Glacier National Park will be gone by 2030.
The glacier lies the end of Grinnell Glacier hike, which is six miles in, six miles out an gains 1600 feet . The highest elevation reached is 6515 feet.

Welcome to my page! There's a lot of photography here, so feel free to make multiple visits. The work can be viewed in galleries or you can search by keywords or title. I have a passion for the natural world and the living creatures that inhabit those places. The stunning beauty of our world and the wild animals that share this earth with us deserve to be revered and protected. In 2019, I was honored to have my work, Cougar Reservoir On A Snowy Day, published in the UK Sunday Times for their interview with Barry Lopez, the nature writer. In addition, recently, three large prints of waterfalls (Spirit Falls with Reflection, Moon Falls, and Pinard Falls), were bought by the Cottage Grove Ranger District Office to decorate their new work...
