Description
Two female mallard ducks landing, one's feet just touching the surface as if she's waterskiing.
One of my favorite places to escape to is Carmen Reservoir. Firstly there are always birds of some type around the water, whether it be ducks, like these mallards , or Canada Dusky Geese, and sometimes if I'm lucky I will get to see the Great Blue Heron. This day there were also osprey; there have been so many osprey in the area especially since Spring.
The water at Carmen Reservoir is filled by gushing streams and it varies at one end from a emerald green (probably from algae) when the sun hits it to darker green to brown where it is shallow and the rocks and submerged wood lay underneath to the other end which is deeper and bluer.
It also is near McKenzie trail (26 miles) where some of the sights are Clear Lake, Sohalie Falls, Koosah Falls, and Tamolitch Falls.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
I currently reside in Oregon, an environment rich in nature's graces. I have lived in California and New York, too, and everywhere there is a world of beauty around us, if we care to take the time and look for it.
