Immature Masked Booby, No. 6
A Immature Masked Booby flies just off a ship's side, diving sporadically into the sea for fish. This seabird is also sometimes called a masked gannet. The adult bird is mostly white with a black face mask and yellow bill, and with some brown and black on its wings and tail while the immature is a mottled brown and white, with a more greenish beak. One interesting fact is that while 2 eggs are laid, the first chick, usually hatching 4-9 days earlier than the second, will most always eject the 2nd chick from the nest.
