Description
Juvenile Lesser Flamingo at Walvis Bay, No. 1
The Juvenile Lesser Flamingo lacks the deep pink color and reddish black beak of the more mature birds, but I found their coloring to be beautiful as well. Large populations of these can be found in Walvis Bay along with the Great Flamingos. The Lesser flamingos are near threatened due to loss of breeding habitats due to human activity, such as heavy metals poisoning, and a proposed soda ash plant in Lake Natron would affect one of their primary breeding sites.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
