Description
Large Juvenile Bald Eagle Heading for a Landing
One morning I heard cries outside and went outside to see. One adult bald eagle was in the water (McKenzie River) and a juvenile was flying over it. I rushed back in for my camera. The adult eagle was in the branches of a tree across the river, preening itself (no fish), and the juvenile eagle was flying low over the river towards it, before landing in a tree below it. The juvenile seemed to be larger than the adult, but perhaps it was still a fledgling, learning to hunt. The young eagle then flew upriver and the adult followed a moment later. There are three images in this series, two of the juvenile/fledgling and one of the adult eagle.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
