Male Barrow's Goldeneye Scrambling Across the Ice

This male Barrow's Goldeneye was scrambling across the ice for an awkward takeoff to scare away two other males from his territory. He and his mate were happily fishing just off the shore of the the Lower Waterfowl lake in Banff National Park in Alberta Canada.
