Description
Mating River Otters at Yellowstone
We stopped to see what was going on at the river and saw two mating river otters. It looked quite unpleasant for the female who is pushed under the water, grabs a bit of air and is pushed under again, and it went on and on. We stopped for about 15 minutes, and it had started before we got there and continued after we left. It appeared she was trying to get on land, but it is normal for mating to take place in the water. Apparently some females are drowned during mating as well, similar to some ducks.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
