Mother Merganser and Young on the Move
This mother merganser was on the river's shore with her three ducklings. A female will usually have 6-17 eggs, so I found it curious there were only 3 with her. The young took off before the mother did, and she followed, catching up and surpassing them. They moved very quickly, skittering upriver.
