Description
Mount Adams from Trout Lake Panorama
Mount Adam rises above its own reflection in Trout Lake. This area was a summer home for Native Americans for thousands of years, "ancestors of the present-day Yakama and Klickitat, as well as the Wasco/Wishram and Cascade people" (https://troutlake.org/history/native/). They harvested cedar bark for their baskets, fished and hunted game. The Yakima name for the lake was Shaxshax-nmi, meaning “place of the kingfisher.”

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
