Description
Munching Grass by the Stream
This is the third set of Brown Bear cubs we saw and the biggest, probably two year olds. The cubs stay with the mother for three years. One seemed much more attached to the mother, always looking towards her, and eventually went over to eat by her side. All was going well, until the cub ate some sedge grass that apparently his mother thought was hers. She used her head and neck to give the cub a big thwack and at the same time snarled at it. The poor cub took off to join its sibling and definitely was sulking. I loved the setting by the stream and the long sedge grass that was in this area. The mother was quite beautiful with a lighter coat and expressive eyes.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
