Description
Schrader Old Growth Forest
This old growth trail is in Gold Beach Oregon and was dedicated to Frances Schrader, a Forest Service employee. Some of the old growth Douglas Firs show charred marks from a fire many years ago. The thickness of the bark protected the trees. The Port Orford Cedars in the forest have died due to a disease. The deciduous tan oak trees root systems can be thousands of years old. They regenerate after fires.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
