Description
Soda Butte - Yellowstone
Soda Butte is an extinct geyser, but its name was based on the mistaken belief that it consisted of soda ash when the deposit was actually travertine or calcium carbonate, like Mammoth Hot Springs. I did enhance the image by taking out a small sign near the base of Soda Butte that said "Danger Fragile Thermal Area."

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
