Under Attack
I got several shots of this dispute between the Red Winged Blackbird and the Great Egret. The first one I posted about a year ago included two glossy ibis (The Ibis Ignore the High Drama at the Pond). I meant to go back and process a couple more, but never got to it. The blackbird was swooping in to attack the Great Egret. The Egret at times couldn't keep up with the attack and would be looking in one direction while the blackbird had already moved to another place. We thought the bird might have a nest nearby and did not like the Great Egret being so close to its eggs. Conjecture? Or did the two have a history? This is a cropped version keying into the confrontation!
