Description
Wild Horses and Biting Flies
I stopped by to see the horses coming on the way back from Wyoming. At first, this view of a couple of bands of wild horses from the Palomino Buttes Herd looked like an idyllic gathering at the waterhole, until I watched for a few minutes. The horses were quite restless, continually re-oganizing their circle, shaking their manes, seeking comfort, with the foals trying to stick their heads in between the others. Once I opened my window, I knew it was due to flies which were very bad that day. Even the cows seemed uncomfortable.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
