The abundance of Wild Roosters and chickens will be evident to any visitor to the Hawaiian islands. Red jungle fowl were brought over by the Polynesians. The hurricanes, Iwa (1982) and Iniki (1992) reportedly released many domestic chickens from coops who then mated with the red jungle fowl.
