Description
Mother Zebra and Foal, No. 2
When we reached Olifantsbad Waterhole, I noticed that most of the mothers and foals were on the rise behind the waterhole. I don't know if they wait until the other zebras have had their fill or if they stay back for protection. This image's background has been textured. Etosha mainly has the Plains Zebra, or Burchell's zebra, although the western portion of the park, near Dolomite Camp has some of the smaller Mountain Zebra or Hartmann's Zebra. The stripes of the Plains zebra include shadow stripe or lighter stripes. The Plans Zebras also tend to live in herds, like wild horses, with a stallion, multiple mares, and bachelor bands also form as well.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
