Description
Stone Sheep is one of two subset of Ovis Dalli. Ovis dalli dalli are Dall Sheep and Ovis Dalli stonei are Stone Sheet, both thinhorn sheep. Stone sheep used to be distinguished by their darker color. Some sheep int he Yukon were thought to be Stone sheep because of this but now are found to be genetically more related to Dall sheep with the Stone sheep being found only in three areas in British Columbia and having a larger skull.
