Bryce Canyon is an amazong place to visit and revisit. The Hoodoos are land formations created over millions of years. The first step, plate techtonics was caused by the Farallon and North America plates colliding, creating an uplift in the North American plate. Later, as the Farallon Plate broke apart, it allowed heat to rise and further uplifted the area. A plateau is created and then unique wesather conditions, inovlving tempteratures of above and below freezing temperatures in the same night, which happens on average 170 days for Bryce Canyon. Rain falls, seeping into cracks and then later freezes, causing an expanion of 9%. resulting in fractures. I first visited Inspiration Point, and then later hiked the Queen's trail (clockwise from Sunrise Point) which leads down into the canyon to a rock formation called Queen Victoria. You then can take the Navajo Loop whiche winds its way upward to Sunset Point. So much beautiy. On prior visits I had mainly viewed the canyon from above, so seeing the rock formations from a different perspective was breathtaking in more ways than one (the hike up is steep)!
