Description
Acorn Woodpecker Taking Off From Its Hole
I hadn't really seen too many birds along this midday walk along Amazon Creek, but on the way back I heard the telltale sound of a woodpecker and soon found this Acorn Woodpecker and its cavity nest. I watched as it flew to the nest, went inside a couple of times and caught it peeking out, before taking off again. There is another capture that show it peeking from its hole.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
