I was photographing heron and a river otter on the other side of a small bridge in the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge. I scanned my surroundings and caught sight of some color on the other side. Almost hidden beneath the shore grasses was this American Bittern.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life.
