Assateague Lighthouse

The Assateague Lighthouse was constructed in 1867 to replace a shorter lighthouse that was built in 1833. It is owned by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and is in the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge on Assateague Island in Virginia.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.

I currently reside in Oregon, an environment rich in nature's graces. I have lived in California and New York, too, and everywhere there is a world of beauty around us, if we care to take the time and look for it.

The stunning beauty of our world and the wild animals that share this earth with us deserve to be revered and protected. In 2019, I was honored to have my work, Cougar Reservoir On A Snowy Day, published in the UK Sunday Times for their interview with Barry Lopez, the nature writer. In addition, recently, three large prints of waterfalls (Spirit Falls with Reflection, Moon Falls, and Pinard Falls), were bought by the Cottage Grove Ranger District Office to decorate their new work...
