Artist's Description
The guide, Steve, had gone back to the jeep to get our picnic lunch and drive it over to a spot over the ridge and under the trees. The three of us in the tour, picked our way up the hill by the watering hole, trying to stay at distance from the horses that were around it. Looking back I saw what I thought to be Nimbus and London. Only later when reviewing my images, did I realize that Cloud and his band had made their way over to the group of horses by the watering hole, and that it was he who was getting a bit lovely dovey with Innocentes (pregnant here and delivering later in the season).
One of the things I love about photography - sometimes there is just so much to take in, and later when I'm reviewing my photographs, it is like having a second chance to relive it and re-perceive it.
