Deschutes River below Steelhead Falls

This trail borders the Deschutes River in Central Oregon. About a half mile in, you reach Steelhead Falls, which is beautiful, but don't stop there as there are lovely views of the river. On the other side of the trail you can clearly see the geological layers on the rocky cliffs, and the effects of erosion. We saw a golden eagle high above on the cliffs and on the water geese with a brood of goslings making their way along the banks.

In addition, recently, three large prints of waterfalls (Spirit Falls with Reflection, Moon Falls, and Pinard Falls), were bought by the Cottage Grove Ranger District Office to decorate their new work...
