Grizzly Bear Nearing the Bottom of the Mountain No. 2
All this grizzly wanted was a drink of water from the creek on the other side of the road. It didn't know it would create such a fuss. But about two dozen tourists and photographers had gathered for about a half an hour, waiting for him to cross the ridge and make an appearance. A ranger was barking orders for people not to approach and yelling at the grizzly too! She worried that these wild animals have gotten too used to people and lost their natural instinct of fear. She had a hazing gun out just in case the grizzly decided to charge.
Calmly the bear meandered behind a blind of bushes, putting distance between itself and those annoying people before he crossed the road. Can one deny the intelligence of an animal who surveys the scene and plans its route? Most tragic encounters are the fault of humans who surprise a bear, especially if it has cubs.
It's a fine line between appreciating the beauty of wild...
