Sauvie Island Wildlife Area is about 10 north of Portland at the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers. I had never been here, although I lived in Portland years ago and visit often. We went to the Oak Island Nature Trail and it was a beautiful walk, although we did end up getting wet. We didn't see much wildlife except one egret and three or four deer. However, there were lots of cows roaming about!
