South Steens Band Stallion Approaches
I had finished photographing a very young foal that was surrounded by two mares from a distance (at least 100-150 yards or so away although another photographer had been closer but had left a few minutes prior). The band stallion band stallion suddenly approached stopping at a tree about 50 yards away. He snorted a bit, rubbed his back under the tree, apparently decided I wasn't a threat and turned around and went to harass another stallion in the general area. Painterly brushstrokes and toning to image were added, mostly to background.
