I missed sunrise at Moraine Lake as I didn't know they no longer allowed private cars not even in the wee hours before dawn. I settled for a morning visit and although the water was still, there were still lovely reflections and the water color is exrtaordinary. The rugged peaks that surround Moraine's smaller circumerference (than Lake Lousie, say) create a more intimate setting. The color of the lake is created by rock flour, a result of glaciers grinding the mountains down and the sediment that flowers in the lake hangles in thje water and absorbs the warme
