Description
Thirteen Moves to Impress a Mate, No. 3
A display of the mating dance of a Sandhill Crane. There were actually more than 13 moves, but frankly I couldn't keep up -(e.g. In a couple, the crane jumped out of frame). Still it was very lovely. There is also a print, where she actually engages, but I left out of this series and it will be treated in a painterly fashion (to be called Sandhill Crane Mating Dance). I felt badly for the male, as he was going to such lengths and she seemed to be ignoring him, but I read that this is not unusual behavior. Perhaps it takes multiple attempts as well as multiple moves!

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
