Description
What the Leopard Left Behind
The carcass of some type of antelope from a leopard's kill remains in a tree and has been there for nine years according to our guide on the Etendeka plateau near the Grootberg Lodge in the Damaraland region Namibia. Grootberg Lodge is wholly owned by the community. The ≠Khoadi //Hoas conservancy, initially funded by the European union, has helped to allay the conflict between the locals and the animals by establishing jobs and a sustainable income to counteract the loss of livestock and farming from what were seen as "nuisance" animals such as the elephants who drink from the villagers' wells and other predator wildlife.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
