A Disagreement at the Pond
I got several shots of this dispute between the Red Winged Blackbird and the Great Egret. The first one I posted about a year ago included two glossy ibis (The Ibis Ignore the High Drama at the Pond). I meant to go back and process a couple more, but never got to it. The blackbird was swooping in to attack the Great Egret. We thought the bird might have a nest nearby and did not like the Great Egret being so close to its eggs. Conjecture? Or did the two have a history? The posturing of the two birds is different in each, and the egret's plumage looks great in this one and the framing is different. Or the various images could make a handsome series on your wall.
Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
