Description
I decided to check out this area north of Gardiner and Yellowstone National Park as a guide I met down in Grand Tetons told me it was an area that had a lot of grizzlies. The gravel road soon turned to rutted dirt and was very bumpy, but the scenery was worth - very beautiful with some ranches, rolling hills and snow capped mountains in the background and the autumn colors enlivening the landscape. I drove back to the campground, but didn't go all the way in as the road was pretty muddy and narrow. I hadn't seen any grizzly, but on my return, I looked into a ranch field and saw four bears in the distance with my binoculars. One grizzly heading towards the hills, and a sow who was relaxing in the pasture while her probable two-year olds were foraging - a peaceful scene. I also saw elk and deer as well as some gorgeus domestic horses by the side of the road.
